1/18–Koh Samui Lunch and Waterfall

Megan has picked an awesome place for lunch, a restaurant resort right on the beach.  We have our choice of sitting under the pagoda or on the beach, and we unanimously choose the former.  More shade, and fans – we’re going for cool.

It’s an ala carte lunch, which works perfectly for all of us.  Ed and I order our seafood – Grilled Squid and I order fried sea bass filets – I really wanted the whole crispy fish, but we are going to Sterling Steakhouse tonight, so we need to eat light for lunch.  Even though there seems to be a little snafu with our meals, we get served absolutely last, when most of the rest of the table has already finished eating, the food is wonderful – and we didn’t care that we were last.  We were happy sitting outside, enjoying the fresh air and the company – and laughing at all of us in the group who couldn’t wait to log onto the internet!  Too funny.

Sadly, lunch is over too soon and we are onto our last stop of the day, a waterfall a short ways away from the pier.  It’s a lovely little place, and we sort of meander about, looking at the fish (which we can feed, but we don’t and settle for watching a cute little boy and his father feed them), watching kids play on the rocks while Ed checks out the Buddha temple, then we pile into the van for the ride back to the pier.

This day was over way to quickly.  We really enjoyed ourselves, and would definitely come back here, even though it is a beach resort.  It has that cool, laid back feeling that we really like and can see ourselves hanging out here in the future.  We bid goodbye to Megan with hugs and best wishes all around, then get in line for the tender and head back for our last two nights aboard the Sapphire Princess.
