Today is basically a sea day, we’ll be cruising by the glacier around 4 pm, so we can just hang out and relax all day long. And that is essentially what we do! No breakfast for us, but we all meet up at lunch in the lounge. That swordfish burger is the best, IMHO.
We split up later and head our own ways for the afternoon. Reading, writing, just a great nothing doing day on the balcony. And the sail into the glacier is spectacular. Passing by the archipelago islands, the cloud formations, every time you looked up there was something different and beautiful that captured your eye. You can imagine the number of pictures we take – but I’ll just share a few (haha) here with you now.
The captain lets us know when we are getting close to the glacier, and Ed and I decide to go up front to watch the sail in, then we’ll go back to our cabin to see the glacier up close as the Captain turns the ship 360 degrees.
Turns out to be a great decision – it is gorgeous up on deck, and we are early enough that we get a fantastic front row view.
Then we get to the glacier, so we run back downstairs and proceed to spend the rest of the afternoon taking tons and tons of pix from the balcony as we slowly turn past Svartisen…
…and more magnificent scenery as we sail back out through the islands….
…and long after dinner as we make our way back to the balcony to watch the amazing scenery slide by us on our way to Leknes in the morning.
