6/11–NCL Star

Saturday arrives bright and sunny.  We grab our coffee at the corner coffee shop today – well Ed has coffee, I get hot water so I can make my Nescafe!  Maggi & Richard show up about 5 minutes after we do, so we all hang out in the sun on the corner, sipping our morning caffeine.

Later we rendezvous in the lobby while we order a cab.  All goes according to plan and we are at the pier in a jiffy.   We’ve managed to get a last minute upgrade to Aft Penthouse suites again, which Maggi uses as a surprise for Richard.  We’re zipped onto the ship and up into Cagney’s for lunch and our Arctic Adventure begins!

Cabins are ready exactly at 1, and we head down to stow our carry on bags. The cabin is laid out very nicely – lots of space, a full dining table for 4, dressing area, 2 sided closet and a set of “faux” canopy curtains that encircle the bed! We call it our cocoon – and it will come in very handy on this trip since the sun will hardly ever set as we sail.

We are ready to set sail now!
