1/27–Afternoon walk and Night Bazaar Food Court

Today was another lazy day. After lunch, we wandered across the river looking for the Tour Authority of Thailand location, because we have read that they have a mini-van to the hot springs for 80 b.  We can’t find the darn building – no surprise.  We cross back over the Nawarot bridge, take pictures of the Chang outside the Governor’s mansion,

then spy the Tourist information center at Warorot.  The girl there tells us we can take a bus – which is in the same location as the SongThaews that we took to Bor Song.  Hmmmm…..will have to figure this out when we come back from the Little Village Resort.

Drinks at O’Malleys, then back to the condo to hang out and read.  Tina Fey’s BossyPants is totally engaging and funny, btw.  Ed is still slogging it through Under the Dome. Great book, but as some of Stephen King’s tomes, it could be about 20% shorter.

Dinner finds us in the night market food court.  Oh – the choices!  IMG_1689

This is the cornucopia of good cheap “semi-street food”. Awesome!  I choose the sushi – and yes – it is 10 and 15b – for 80 b ($2.43 USD) I get 3 pieces of salmon nigiri, one roe nigiri and 2 rolls of indeterminate type – but all good!

Ed hits the mother lode though.  Fried mix – oh boy!  100b ($3.00 USD) – and this plate is totally full of fried chicken, shrimp, shrimp balls, squid, fish balls, and who the heck knows what else!  It’s 6 pounds of fried something or other! I can’t even help him finish it!

We head to Roadside for our night cap and learn more Thai. We’ll be fluent before we leave.  LOL. Then back to the condo for Downton Abbey – and then sleep.  Tomorrow the Little Village. Fun!
