11/3 - Barcelona!

Quick flight from LHR.  Less than 2 hours, and after a little scary landing (it's windy, the pilot warned us, but also told us it's better than it was earlier in the day - glad we didn't have to experience that!!!) we are here. Long day!

Passport control takes forever because we are behind a huge plane load of Chinese, but we are finally through and released into the baggage area where mercifully both our bags made it this time!  Now it's on to the ATM, out into the super long cab line that moves really fast and before you know it we are speeding toward Barcelona!

We get hung up in protest diversion traffic (students protesting, peacefully, not like last week thank heavens) then finally make it to the Hotel Catedral, smack in the middle of the Gothic Quarter.

Nice room, bags dropped, we're too tired to meander looking for food, so we stay at the hotel bar which is perfect. Tapas (carb hell, but soooooo good and reasonably priced for a hotel), beer, wine, we are happy campers.
Back in the room, a heavenly shower, even more heavenly bed, and we are out for the count.  Tomorrow, medevial villages.
