After a very nice long sleep – in a totally comfy bed – we awake pretty refreshed as we meet Roger and Natalie for our morning walk. We decide to head into Hyde Park behind Kensington Palace. We stroll down lovely walkways, through the Italian gardens with their beautiful fountains
and along a stream where ducks and swans and a heron are all vying for bread crumbs.
We pass one of the many statues in the gardens, this one Peter Pan. There is a sign that says it is a talking statue, but I can’t get Handy to find the web site. So we’ll never know what Peter has to say!
We turn towards the palace with its lake full of migrating birds and end our walk on the Diana Memorial Walk.
It is time to turn back, sadly, too soon. Darn British Airways!
We go back to the hotel to shower, pack and check out. Waiting in the lobby for our driver, we take a few group pictures, then wave farewell from the car hire window as we head to Southampton for our last night in the Kingdom. Way too short a visit, but hopefully it won’t be too long before we see Natalie and Roger again.
