Surprisingly, we wake refreshed after about 5 hours of sleep. Checking our email we see that our flight is indeed scheduled to go again tonight, only this time at 9:35. Ok. We’ll see what happens today.
Natalie and Roger are already in London, as we couldn’t cancel the rooms at this late date. So they are having a solo London day until we can hopefully join them.
We are hanging out, enjoying our morning (well, afternoon) coffee catching up on the world. After our shower we go downstairs for lunch to find that the lunch buffet is free for us, compliments of BA. And it is a nice buffet too! Great salad bar, good selection of hot foods with some awesome chicken and M&M cookies. Yum!
When we return to our room, we find a letter from BA apologizing for the delay, explaining that breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel are available free of charge, and that our flight has been rescheduled for 9:35 this evening. We are totally impressed. Maybe their war with Virgin Atlantic all those years ago really taught them something? Don’t know, but we couldn’t have been treated any better.
So now….fingers crossed everyone for a lift off this evening a little before 10:00pm and a smooth and uneventful flight to jolly ole England.
