10-30–Day at Sea

We’ve sailed.  Unexpectedly at 9am, we pulled way from our new “safe” pier (next to the normal pier where we typically embark/disembark from Civitavecchia).  No announcements, no nothing, just off we go.  The sea is a little better, but by 10am I’m already  into my pills and into the cabin for the rest of morning.  The captain tells us that the seas will smooth out later in the afternoon – and they d – so the rest of the afternoon is pleasant as we sail toward Livorno.

Dinner tonight is in Aqualina. We had made reservations, then canceled them because we thought we were going to Bastia at least, and would be out late.  But for some reason the reservations are still in the system, so we’re not turning it down.  I order all appetizers, which is great, and Ed has the Osso Bucco – and all is well on our unexpected sea day. Tomorrow – Livorno and ghost town explorations.
