It’s ship day! We’re off Princess about 9:30 - and holy cow! Canada Place (the port) is a ZOO! There are 3 ships in port and the lines are incredible. The taxi line has got to be over an hour. Wow! We manage to find the luggage porters. They take our bags and put them on a truck. Hmmm…ours are the only bags (of course it is early) so we are a little concerned. But, nothing we can do but hope it’s right. We want to walk into town a bit to find a liquor store, so we try to head outside. It takes us almost 15 minutes just to navigate our way out of the darn port to the street! Amazing!
Once outside in the drizzle, we actually find a store open, stock up on our supplies, then head back into the melee of the port to check in for Oceania. No sense hanging out in the rain outside when we’ll be back in a week for 2 days. So we sit and wait in the little cold waiting are outside Regatta. We’re finally checked in around 11:30 or so, and aboard up in the Terrace’s Café by noon. Safe and dry and ready for Alaska!
We spend the day watching the seaplanes fly- and then the other ships in port sail until finally we are off – North to Alaska, the rush is on!
