2/23–Cairns day 2

We wake up on our own today, just taking it easy.  It is rainy outside and quite frankly, we’ve nothing to do, so we aren’t in any rush to go out.  Gym, breakfast, lounge – we hang out and watch the rain slide by us.  After lunch, we finally decide to test dry land (or semi-dry!) and head out to find internet.  On the way we grab more supplies, then wander the Esplanade. No one has any free wi-fi – just McDonald’s – or Macca’s as the Aussies call it.  We stop by Rattle n’ Hum, just for a tipple – and find a wi-fi provider that costs 4AU dollars for 2 hours.  What the heck!  We sign up and spend the next couple of hours surfing, loading the blog, and sipping on beer and wine.

We finally head back to the ship in time for sailing, and hang out on the balcony watching the sail boats and other water vessels glide past us and the rainforest mountains grow smaller in the distance as we sail from port.

Another nice, relaxing day.  Now an evening aboard, then another sea day before we anchor off of Airlie Beach and we head to the Great Barrier Reef!
