Game day! We are excited because we are having a Super Bowl party in the theater with buckets of beer and all the “appropriate” football food. The odd thing is that, well, it’s Monday here – not Sunday – and similar to Hawaii, the game starts at 10:30AM our time. So be it. Early day for food and drink…..it’s the Super Bowl!
We arrive at the theater a little before 10 because we want to get good (specific) seats up on the last row, where there are bar height chairs and a bar like counter. Wow! What a spread! As usual, Celebrity went all out. There are ice sculptures…

And each side of the theater if designated for each team with team banners and hundreds of team color balloons.….
And the food! Wings, sliders, nachos, hot dogs, sauerkraut, and tons of desserts! Including football shaped brownies!
And it’s a sell out crowd! We’re lucky we got there early to procure our seats, cause the place really fills up. We order our bucket of beer (yes I’m drinking beer – way better bargain than the darn wine on board!) and get ready for the big game on the big screen.
Well, we all know the outcome, so won’t bore you with that. And we can all compare commercials later, because we didn’t have all of the American commercials. We also had a number of international commercials. So we were entertained for the entire game (including the black out!). So entertained in fact, that we blew off the Captain’s Club free wine tasting. Eh, why bother? We were having too much fun – and I wasn’t going to like most of them anyway – 2 whites, 2 reds (I never like the reds), and one of the whites actually turned out to be a chardonnay with a “woodsy” finish (according to Natalie, one of the folks we’ve met in the lounge) – so I would have not been happy with 3 out of 4. Bucket of beer and wings. Much better choice!
