1/12–Hanoi!!!

We arrived safe and sound, albeit a bit late last night to the Hanoi Elite, where as per usual, they are waiting for us at the airport and come out to deliver us from the taxi through the alley to the hotel. They greet us like family, know all our details (how was the flight from Phnom Penh? do you still want a car booked to go to the Ho Chi Minh memorial – which we had inquired about previously) give us our passionfruit juice welcome and take our bags upstairs as we settle in downstairs in the lobby. After the bags are deposited upstairs, they escort us to our room (305 no less!) – and surprise! This is what was waiting for us on our bed.

How sweet is that?  We love this place!  Plus, there is fresh fruit and little complimentary Vietnamese snacks waiting for us – which equals dinner!  We had food on the plane, but it wasn’t really all that filling. And there was no alcohol – which was very suprising. But still, we’re not all that hungry. Ed opens up a bag of chips from the mini-bar, I eat a banana and some little biscuits, we drink the beer in the mini-bar, check our email on the laptop they provide, and then call it a night after a long day.
